Your Town Councillors and Town Clerk are always looking to work on new projects to make Aspatria a lovely place to live, work or visit. Please see below what we have been up to and what we are working towards:

Brandraw Toilet Block:
These toilets have been closed for over two years. Aspatria Town Council have now taken ownership of the block and reopened these in June 2022.

The Welcome Back Fund:
The Council acquired funding from Allerdale under The Welcome Back Fund which was used to purchase 5 new noticeboards around the town, five new benches and a canopy shelter which accompanies two of the new benches at Harriston Road. The council also purchased new mangers and hanging baskets for the annual flowers which are displayed throughout the town.

Defibrillator:
With funding acquired from ADCCA Charity Shop and money from the council, we were able to purchase a new defibrillator which is installed on the exterior wall at The Bowling Club, St Mungos Park. This was paramount with the amount of sports which takes place in St Mungos Park and for the surrounding residential area.

Kubota Lawn Mower:
The council have recently upgraded their mower for the grass cutting which takes place in the Memorial Park to keep the area looking amazing.

St Mungo’s pitches:
The council arranged for contractors to drain and seed the football pitches at St Mungo’s Park. These pitches are used on a regular basis with Aspatria FC having players as young as 4 years old (Reception). The work carried out was to prevent the pitches being damaged and help to maintain the grass.

Grants:
Aspatria Town Council have given grants to several projects within the town. Some of these include:
The FREE family fun day at Aspatria Rugby Club where all fairground rides were free of charge, free live music and entertainment.
Dreamscheme acquire funding from the council to help provide their excellent projects which are ongoing throughout the year. (link to dreamscheme)
